Jennifer is 16 years old and is the oldest of three children, of which the other two, José and Miguel, are also enrolled in The Isaiah Project. Jennifer is a big help around the Project, arriving every morning to help serve breakfast to the younger kids and walk them to school. Jennifer is also one of our most inquisitive personalities; she regularly asks us our opinions on topics of faith and religion. Jennifer is normally a very serious and mild mannered kid, so we enjoy making her laugh and trying to show her that life is a precious gift and we should enjoy it with one another; yes, even sometimes in laughter and smiles.
Jennifer currently lives with her mom and step-dad and is a “normal” teenager in that she is easily embarrassed by her mom and tries to act older than she is. Jennifer is very intelligent, but lazy; most likely just another product of the inept Nicaraguan school system. On the scholastic side of things we are really pleased with Jennifer as she is one of the better, more hard working students we have enrolled in the Project. Jennifer is also one of the five high-school students we selected to be enrolled in a private Christian school as she has shown extra promise and desire to excel in her studies and deserves an opportunity to go to a better school. We are pleased to say that Jennifer is making the most of this opportunity, making the honor roll repeatedly.
