José is quickly becoming a pleasure to have around the Project, which is such a blessed change in comparison to the supremely negative, aloof boy we had come to know not so long ago. José is 12 years old and in his last year of elementary school, which makes him older than most of his classmates, however, in the beginning weeks of The Isaiah Project we had many issues with José and his behavior. Spending most of his time around younger kids, it appeared to us that José was stooping down to the maturity level of his younger classmates and refusing to accept his responsibility as a role-model for the others. Pulling him aside early on we communicated our desires for him, to be a leader and more of an example to those around him and how great of an opportunity he has to be influential in a positive way. Well, since that little chat we have seen great strides in José; he seems happier, and has definitely taken a turn for the better. In fact, we awarded José recently for receiving his best grades up to date and our hoping that this is the beginning of a long trend ![]()
José is a bright kid with a real desire to learn, especially in the science arena. He wants to be an engineer when he grows up and we are praying that with the little bit of encouragement and discipline we can provide at the Project he can understand that with God all things are possible.
