Oscar is 13 years old and in his second year of high school. We have placed Oscar in a private Christian school along with 4 others that have shown promise and extra desire to excel in their studies and Oscar has been doing well thus far, making the honor roll a few times. Oscar is the eldest son of his family and has two younger brothers and sisters. Oscar, like most adolescent or pre-teen boys butts heads with his mom often. More than a few times Oscar’s mom has come to us in tears complaining about her son’s rebellion and lack of respect for her. As you probably have guessed, this has been a point of concern for us at The Isaiah Project and we have made a concerted effort to focus on this with Oscar. We are blessed to be able to say that we have seen a change; slight though it may be, Oscar’s behavior has improved and we have had less negative reports from his mom.
Oscar supposedly lives in a home with both parents present, but we have seen and heard very little from his father. Neither his mother or father have consistent work, so making ends meet is always a challenge for them. A few interests of Oscar are that his favorite thing to do in his free time is to sleep, and when he grows up he would really like to be a pilot.
